I've committed to myself to do this "newsletter" - I'm finding it difficult. No one writes anymore. Email me any input..it will provide subject matter for conversation..... Roseburg 2010 is past, booking interest was stronger than any in the past. Verbal commitments over 90#s. Actual that showed to sell were 79 vehicles. "Thank You" to everyone that showed interest. The "public crowd" was a little fewer this year...there is so much to do during Graffiti Week in Roseburg.
However, Petersen Collector Cars did sell over $310,000.00 in vehicles. The percentage sold was a little lower this year, but, money collected for the sellers was up nearly 18%! During this past 5 years of National Economic decline Petersen Collector Car Auction have maintained a small % of continued increase in sales volume. 2010 has to date been our highest dollar value event for Roseburg ! EVER!
Our staff lands in Roseburg - all shoes on deck and moving - our schedule doesn't allow us very much free time to enjoy this truly great Hot Rod weekend put together by all the Roseburg residents. I want to say "Great Job" to the Stray Angels and the Flat Heads Forever groups, and businesses and their endless string of volunteers that host the rest of us! From the fairgrounds entire staff, to the kids waiting tables and pumping gas all around Roseburg we feel welcomed.
For several years now I and others that I've worked with have used "Graffiti Weekend" as an example to show other town fathers (?!!?) what our hobby can do for their local business incomes. To no avail! BUT!!! 2010 is full of hope and opportunity for those willing or crazy enough to keep doing. Susan and I have had the neat chance to take over the SHOW-N-SHINE at the Eugene Celebration in downtown Eugene.(inside city limits ... wanders will never cease!) The August 28th Show-N-Shine crew is preparing for 125 vehicles and we will set up after noon and behind the celebration parade on 8th Street using 2 blocks. Currently we are working on our ideas on how to Host you. Here's another chance for INPUT. Any interest out there for an August 29th Motorcycle Show-N-Shine-it's on Eugene Celebration Sunday (input needed) Keep on Hot Rodin' - stay safe..... Susan and I hope to see you out there doin' it! Tires smokin.....carbs screaming..... Curt

Hey Hot Rodders and fellow Business Owners

I'm encouraging all of us to find some way to participate in this "old school" beginning into the "car racing & hot rod" world. Lets find a way advertise, sponsor or what ever might fit your business and support this very clean drug free, family based sport for both girls and boys. Lets help keep them "off the streets and on the race track".

There have been countless studies done to prove it, but virtually everyone knows that spending quality time with a kid is the greatest gift you can give them. And sharing your appreciation for collector cars is a great way to nurture their interest in a hobby that you can enjoy together for many years to come.
