This car is a custom/clone/ tribute/resto-mod of an L-72. It started out as a 6 cyl. 3 speed. Real L-72’s are very rare and this one was built to mirror a real factory car but IT IS A RECREATION.
The engine is a later model 454. It has a Crane Cam and lifters, new double roller timing chain and gears, a new harmonic balancer, a new HEI distributor, new plugs, wires, and cap, a real GM aluminum 4 barrel intake and a performance Holley carb, a reproduction stock air cleaner, a modern PCV system, stock original exhaust manifolds, a new exhaust system w/flowmaster mufflers, new shocks, new gas tank, new fuel lines, new fuel pump.
The transmission is a TH400 rebuilt and updated by A-1 Transmission with a shift kit and modified stall converter.
The 12 bolt differential has a Yukon Gear “Dura-grip” limited slip, center section with an all new ring and pinion, bearings, seals, etc. with a 3.42 ratio, new Dutchman axles and wheel bearings and seals. New brakes, springs, wheel cylinders, everything new or rebuilt.
Power/Front disc brakes with new dual diaphragm booster and new master cylinder. New power steering hoses, new radiator, new radiator hoses, new belts, new heater core, new heater hoses.
Factory AIR. The A/C system has been rebuilt with new hoses, freshly serviced using R-12 refrigerant.
The windshield is new, the paint is new, the interior is reproduction stock and it’s new, the tires are new. The steering column has been rebuilt with a new turn signal switch, the battery is new, the cables are new. Parts of the wiring harness that needed to be replaced are new.
The car has an Impala A/C dash and firewall to allow the installation of the factory A/C system. It has a new Custom Autosound modern AM/FM radio and speaker.
This car was built to be a driver, for comfort, dependability, drivability, and fun. You can drive it anywhere in air-conditioned comfort.
